I just got this emailed to me by The Swip and thought I’d pass on the news because I like it:
New Orleans rock bands The Swip and Big Blue Marble will be hosting UN
delegates from 33 countries at the Circle Bar on Friday April 17th.
“We intend to play for them until they can offer us a viable plan for
world peace and free the world from hunger, poverty, and fraudulent
email” said Jorge Lazzari , Swip drummer, he added “The show starts
at ten p.m. and we expect to have results within a couple of hours”.
Various local radical groups calling themselves “French Quarter
Festival Goers” have threatened a “stand in” in and around the area
all day Friday and throughout the weekend, though it is expected that
these demonstrations will be peaceful. Asked about concerns over these
“festival goers” ruining the peace talks Lazzari commented, ” I think
that people will find that they can support both causes. Coming to the
peace talks at the circle bar friday night is an excellent way to cap
off the festival on Friday or a smart primer for the rest of the
fest”. The mayor’s office declined to offer any comment.
