This week, I finally made it inside the Spitfire Saloon on West 117th in Lakewood. I’ve driven by that bar for two years, always noticing it for the naked man mannequins hanging off a balcony on the second floor.  (Eminem would love it.)  I used to suspect it was a kinky gay bar but it is, in fact, a punk rock dive bar.

Working for a booking company who will put anyone on stage makes me especially jealous of policies like theirs:

The coolest part of the night was not even entering the bar, but actually going down the back stairs to the dungeon area to the bathroom and running into an old friend.  The jellyman!

Since there was a jellyman at the bottom of the stairs AND on the wall inside the girls’ bathroom, I guess the Lakewood jellyman artist is a punk rock chick who also rides the RTA.  It could even be me (but it’s not).

I went to Koffie’s Coffee on West 25th for breakfast and walked to Gorilla Headquarters on Lorain Avenue.  I decided recently that I’m going to start spray painting, so I’ve been watching graffiti closely to get ideas.

I wish I had a better camera, but I have to admit that for the internet my Blackberry Pearl is OK.  I never bought a memory card, but with the Flickr application I am able to upload the images as soon as they’re taken and just delete them.  By the time I got to the office I already had all my pictures online and tagged.  I did go in and auto-correct them all with Picnik.
