Mitch Hedberg on Doubletree Resorts:

I can’t tell you what hotel I’m stayin’ in, but I can say that there are two trees involved. They said,

“Let’s call this hotel “Something…Tree”, so they had a meeting; it was quite short.

“How ’bout Tree?”

“No, Double Tree.”

“Hell yeah! Meeting adjourned!”

I had my heart set on “Quadruple Tree”… damn it, we were almost there!”

There must have been a similar meeting in Costa Rica when they named the produce monopoly, Dos Pinos.  Dos Pinos has been in Costa Rica longer than the Doubletree, but has eerily similar branding.

They deal mostly in beverages and dairy products, so there are two trees involved in most of the juice, milk, butter and ice cream in Costa Rica.
